City Officials Recommend Vacating 100 South

Several days ago, the city revealed that it was likely to recommend vacating 100 South, effectively paving the way for the LDS Church to buy the street for it’s new temple campus.

Tuesday night, the city planning commission officially recommended that the city follow through with that plan. This paves the way for the project to move forward. It is at once exciting because it represents development in downtown, but there are still many unanswered questions about the underlying philosophy of the project.

100 South in Provo will be sold to the LDS Church and become a part of the new temple campus.
