Economic Status and Recovery

Here’s a series of interesting, interactive maps that rank the economic state of the 100 largest metro areas in the US. They come from the Brookings Institute.  (They also don’t work well on all browers. I had the best luck with Chrome.)

Aside from the fact that the Provo-Orem metro area is ranked — and therefore the maps are worth checking out — it’s also worth noting that we’re doing really well in many areas. In terms of economic recovery, employment and unemployment we’re actually in the top 20. That’s pretty impressive when considering the “competition”: much larger, more traditionally dynamic metros in much bigger states.
